A: Our plans include increasing our product sales overseas and expanding our customer base to include more international distributors and customers.

Q: Do you find your job rewarding and if so how?

A: Yes, very rewarding. It is a pleasure to be involved on a day to day basis in an ever changing medical environment and our ability to be able to assist customers in meeting their needs provides interesting interactions.

A: Yes. We supply products and support across the whole of the UK and some European countries also.

A: Dot Medical was founded by the current Managing Director, Dr Ian Rankin. We are 14 years young this year!

Q: Where is the company based?

A: Dot Medical is based in Cheshire and we are due to expand into larger offices this year.

Q: What is your most popular product/service and why do you think that is?

A: One of our most popular products is the Medivance Arctic Sun, a Targeted Temperature Management system for post cardiac arrest and traumatic brain injury patients. This product is in great demand as it is very effective and simple for nurses to implement and use. It is one of very few systems that meet the 2010 Resuscitation Council Guidelines and also the NICE (National Inst. Clinical Excellence) guidelines published last month. The Arctic Sun is helping patients by improving neurological outcome after Cardiac Arrest.

Q: Do you have any new products on the horizon?

A: We do, we have two exciting new products which could alter the way that patients are treated. One of these, currently has no treatment available within the NHS. Watch this space!

Q: Do you foresee much expansion in the coming years?

A: Yes. Dot Medical is in an extremely fortunate position, as we are regularly approached by companies who have developed new and innovative products and request our assistance to introduce them into the healthcare field. By continuing to work closely with hospitals and anaesthetists, we are able to identify innovative solutions that can significantly improve the quality of patient care.

Q: What technological innovations have you introduced?

A: Last year we introduced the Catheter Robotics AMIGO a robot for EP and undertook the first live cases in the world at the Glenfield Hospital, Leicester. This year we will undertake a similar achievement with a unique product to be introduced later this year. Again, a world’s first being introduced from within the UK! Dot Medical has become synonymous for the sourcing of unique technological innovations which provide UK hospitals with the ability to treat patients with quality treatments and products.

Q: How successful have you been to date?

A: Our success is measured by the customers who continually return to us to purchase our products and services. A high proportion of our existing customers started buying products from Dot Medical 14 years ago when we first entered the UK market and our customer base continues to grow. It is always encouraging to maintain customers whilst at the same time expanding our range of products and customers alike.

A: Dot Medical’s commitment to quality is paramount to our success which is why we have ISO13485 and ISO9001 and the Investors in People Award.

A: Good customer relations is the basis for positive company development. As we continually introduce new products to the medical world we engage our customers for their opinions and guidance. Without the support of our customers we would not be able to develop our unique product portfolio. In return we give a commitment to provide exemplary quality, service and leading edge technology.
