Central Medical Supplies Ltd (CMS) is the exclusive UK distributor for the Biegler Autopress automatic pressure infusor. Autopress can be used in conjunction with the Biegler blood and fluid warmers or as a stand-alone device wherever fluids have to be dispensed under constant pressure.
The Biegler Autopress inflates to the designated pressure setting and continues to maintain this pressure as the fluid is administered. Mains or battery operated, Autopress is small, lightweight and fits on any IV pole.
Pressure bags are required in emergency situations where there is a clinical need for a critically ill or injured patient to be quickly administered with a high volume of fluids. Pressure infusors are also used to pressurise bags used for invasive blood pressure monitoring in critical care areas.
Standard bags require the inflation to be done manually using a large squeeze bulb. Due to the constant squeezing action required, the manual inflation of bags can result in healthcare professionals suffering from repetitive strain injuries (RSI). Manually inflating bags can be time consuming and rely on the pressure gauges on the inflation bags being accurate and easy to read. The bags also need to be checked periodically, to ensure the pressure is being maintained as the fluid is administered. The Biegler Autopress infusor replaces the need for manual inflation and bag checking. It is easy to operate, due to the electronic pressure regulator, and provides a quick and accurate way of inflating bags to the required pressure.
