Dräger received the Green Exhibitor Award at this year’s Association of Anaesthetists of Great Britain & Ireland Annual Congress for best practice in environmental sustainability.
Focusing on Lung Recruitment Manoeuvres, Dräger exhibited the latest software for the Perseus A500 anaesthesia workstation, which supports both single and multi-step recruitment manoeuvres. The promotional image for the campaign is a set of lungs made from a forest of trees, and this was prominent on the exhibition booth.
Dräger, who takes environmental protection very seriously, decided upon the idea of giving delegates who attended their booth the opportunity to donate a tree, for planting in the UK.
Over the three days, a total of 52 tree forms were completed.
The organisation is now working with a UK tree planting company to ensure the trees are planted and the delegates are informed of the progress.
The AAGBI launched a Green Exhibitor Award at the Annual Congress, and all exhibiting companies were given the opportunity to apply. The award recognises and awards companies who can demonstrate examples of best practice in environmental sustainability by; reducing their environmental impact at Annual Congress 2017 (less paper, waste, energy and transport); using inventive environmental ideas for stand merchandise and giveaways.
Dräger felt the award was a good fit, so completed the application form before the event. The deciding committee attended the Dräger booth and questioned staff on the companies commitment to environmental issues, and about the tree donations.
The AAGBI announced that Dräger had won the award on the Thursday afternoon.
